The Philippines is officially known as the Republic of the Philippines, bounded in the east of the Philippine Sea. It is located in Southeast Asia in the Western Pacific Ocean. On the north across the Luzon Strait is Taiwan and in the west across the South China Sea is Vietnam. The Sulu Sea to the Southwest is the island of Borneo whereas to the South of the Celebes Sea is the island of Indonesia.
If you have noticed, the Philippines is prone to earthquakes and typhoons. Why? The area of the country is on the Pacific Ring of Fire. Fortunately, with its tropical climate, Philippines is rich in natural resources and become one of the richest areas of biodiversity in the world.
The Philippines archipelago comprises of 7,107 islands which is categorized into three main geographical divisions : Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The capital of the country is Manila.
Being one of the most populous countries in the world with its approximately 92 million people plus 11 million living overseas, there are multiple ethnicities and cultures can be found in the island of the Philippines.
There are many different tourist spots to visit and explore and we are proud to introduce these to foreign people who love to travel around the world.
